SUMMARY:Craft Your Commerce Connect | Financial Strategy in Crayon
DESCRIPTION:Financial Strategy unlike you’ve probably experienced before. Instead of teaching formulas\, we’re going to look at how your business actually works – because financial strategy is already there\, whether you’ve named it or not. \nMost creative entrepreneurs think their financial challenges come from not knowing enough numbers. In reality\, the numbers aren’t the problem – it’s what’s shaping them. We’re going to give the numbers color. \nUsing a playful “financial strategy in crayon” approach\, we’ll map your business with color\, sketches\, and simple patterns—no spreadsheets\, no jargon\, no shame (but still numbers!). You’ll look at your business as a set of flows: where money comes in\, where it goes\, and what supports or drains. \nWe’ll look at real business scenarios (“financial decisions in the wild”) to show how assumptions\, patterns\, flow and constraints—not math—drive financial strategy. \nBy the end\, you’ll walk away with a visual map of your business you can actually understand\, a clearer sense of what’s driving your current results\, and a way to make financial decisions in the future. \n  \nInstructor Bio: Amanda Bell is a business strategist\, financial systems thinker\, and co-founder of Thrive Strategy LAB. She blends data-driven financial diagnostics with human-centered coaching to help creative entrepreneurs understand their numbers\, clarify their direction\, and make decisions that feel sustainable. Amanda works across product\, service\, and retail-based businesses throughout Western North Carolina\, building custom financial models\, capacity plans\, and operational strategies that support growth without burnout. Her approach centers clarity\, practicality\, and the belief that business decisions should make sense both on paper and in a person’s nervous system.

SUMMARY:WORKshop: A Four-Week Business Intensive for Artists
DESCRIPTION:Where Creative Practice Meets Business Strategy \nDetails:  \n\nCohort Based – limit 8-12 participants\n4 days over 4 weeks (content + work time with support)\nIn Person at Center for Craft\nMeets every Wednesday for 4 weeks – May 6th\, 13th\, 20th and 27th\, full days 10am-4pm w/ 1 hour lunch break\n\nThis four-week intensive is designed for artists who are ready to take a deeper dive into the business side of their creative practice. Each session is a full day\, built to balance structured learning with dedicated work time\, so you leave each week having actually accomplished something\, not just taken notes. \nThis is a small\, cohort-based program intentionally limited in size to keep sessions focused\, personal\, and supportive. Over the course of four weeks\, we’ll dig into the details that drive a sustainable creative business\, including: \n\nBusiness goals and growth planning – pricing\, inventory strategies and visual planning\nFinancials — where you are and where you want to be – choosing intentional\, sustainable and varied ways to sell your work\nShows and markets — whether they’re the right fit for your business and how to approach them strategically\nOnline marketing\, cans — not shoulds\, and practical approaches \n\nThis program is best suited for artists who have some experience selling their work and are ready to move beyond the basics — examining what’s working\, identifying room for improvement\, and building a clear path forward. \nExpect honest discussions\, hands-on work sessions\, and practical takeaways you can put to use right away. \n  \nInstructor Bio: Erica Stankwytch Bailey \nErika Stankwytch Bailey has been running her jewelry business since 2004 and she’s figured out most of it the hard way so you don’t have to. \nWith over two decades of experience building and sustaining a creative business largely on her own terms\, Erika has developed real\, tested strategies that have helped her grow her practice\, navigate the business side of making\, and raise a family along the way. The curriculum she brings to this workshop wasn’t pulled from a textbook — it was built through years of trial\, error\, and hard-won clarity. \nErika is passionate about pulling back the curtain on what it actually takes to run a sustainable creative business\, and equally excited to be in honest conversation with other artists who are figuring it out too. She believes the best ideas come from the room\, and she’s here to learn just as much as she is to teach.
