SUMMARY:Money Mindset Lecture - Hybrid
DESCRIPTION:Economists would have us believe that money is neutral. But if you’ve ever negotiated a price increase in your business\, had a fight with your partner or remembered what caused stress in your parents\, you know that money is anything but. This workshop\, by artist and tax expert Hannah Cole\, will reveal some of the hidden places where your mindset about money may be holding you back. And it will give you some helpful re-framing devices to bring money into focus as a helpful tool rather than something painful and loaded. We will discuss perfectionism\, what the IRS is really looking for (hint: it’s not as bad as you think)\, pricing\, and much more. \nMoney Mindset is part of the Craft Your Commerce Workshop Series Next Level Financials and Operations. \nThis is a HYBRID lecture. For those who wish to meet in person it will take place at the Center for Craft in the Ideation Lab. For those who wish to meet virtually\, a zoom link will be sent upon registration. SUMMARY:Selling on Pinterest
DESCRIPTION:You’re a creator. You’ve always been good with your hands. The thrill of manifesting an object from your imagination is what gets you out of bed in the morning but marketing your business online? Not so much. Maybe you’ve already embraced Instagram but your reach is being tanked by algorithms and it’s not actually driving visitors to your site. Besides\, your followers are already familiar with your brand. You need new customers and a place to get in front of them. Well\, the good news is that there is a place\, and it’s called Pinterest. \nPinterest might be for you if you’re frustrated by your declining Instagram reach\, you wish you could spend more time making instead of engaging on social media\, or feel like you spend so much time producing quality content for it to be irrelevant after 30 minutes of posting.  Maybe it’s time to give your content more legacy so you can get back to creating. \nSelling on Pinterest workshop is part of the Craft Your Commerce Spring 2022 Workshop Series Beyond the Studio: Next Level Digital Marketing.

SUMMARY:Insuring Creativity
DESCRIPTION:So often the creative community doesn’t carry the proper insurance to cover your business in a time of need. 79% of creative based businesses do not carry the correct insurance necessary to protect their business. The lack of adequate business insurance represents a career-threatening financial vulnerability to creatives who are affected by emergencies beyond their control such as fire\, theft\, and natural disasters.  \nCERF+ was started by artists for artists in the craft community as a grassroots mutual aid effort in 1985 and has since emerged as the leading nonprofit organization that uniquely focuses on safeguarding artists’ livelihoods nationwide. CERF+ serves artists who work in craft disciplines by providing a safety net to support strong and sustainable careers. Our core services are education programs\, advocacy\, network building and emergency relief. \nCERF+ is readiness\, relief + resilience for studio artists\, ensuring that they are as protected as the work they create. \nJoin CERF+ and others for a discussion about insurance and the actual needs creatives have around protection. \nThe Insuring Creativity workshop is part of the Craft Your Commerce Workshop Series Beyond the Studio: Financials and Operations.
